we will help out at my in-laws' shop
selling school uniforms, shoes, socks and stationery
after spotting serveral primary school kids
trying out those white canvas mary-janes
i really wanted a pair for myself
and they cost only $5.50!
but here's the snag - i not allowed to pay for anything from the shop
which means everything's free for my taking
i always feel extremely pai-seh to take stuff from the shop
in the past i've seen puffy stickers that were only 20 cents a piece
which i could and would have bought 20 of them!
& in the end i had in possession only 1 piece!
although it was free for my taking, i couldn't take all 20 pieces could i?

so i told k,
i'm going to buy them from another shop!
he exclaimed i was mad, and took a pair for me.
i was highly embarrassed.
dad-in-law said, "oh, u going to draw on them is it?"
i managed a sheepish smile.
i gleefully tried them on - oh they look so preppy!
and i'm really happi! haha

your post brought back feelings of nostalgia for me. i used to wear these mary-jane shoes to school and they were so comfy and easy to replace coz cheap.
P.O.S - i AM thinking of buying more to draw, but no inspiration of what to draw yet... perhaps maybe something like the LV's new Graffiti series ;)
JellyBelly - they are VERY comfy! i wore them for a site walk and they were super comfy as i walked for ages!
